Luggage Tags

As a throwback to the old days we recollect on the history of Luggage tags and how they evolved. Originally they were used as a system to manage the luggage of passengers on the railroads. To begin with, passengers originally looked after their own luggage with the use of leather vintage luggage tags. Luggage Tags came in a variety of shapes, most often made of leather and brass, but over the decades we migrated to paper and then plastic. As business and pleasure travel increased, this system proved inefficient as there were too many complaints about the care of the baggage. With changes on these vintage luggage tags, including adding the train number, traveler’s information, etc. it became a little more efficient but still lacked the designer or cute look. The old vintage luggage tags of brass and leather are gone due electronic tracking by the airlines. And so, a new reason for a designer luggage tag has emerged… the dreaded black bag! We all know with certainty what we are referring to here. Unless your luggage is adorned with a designer luggage tag, a unique luggage tag or a noticeable cute luggage accessory, you can be one of hundreds lifting and looking over the baggage carousels through a sea of black bags. Use a bright or unique luggage accessory to identify our bag quickly and spare the time and embarrassment of handling others luggage.
